One key aspect of the selected positions of contemporary art is their role of representing well-known art historical examples. The exhibition shows photographs and films as well as installations in which artwork from various eras are incorporated without any form of alteration or manipulation. The works presented here can be clearly differentiated from characteristic forms of pop art, arte povera, and conceptual art because they do not refer to other works but are instead themselves marked by a direct iconographic and aesthetic presence of historical works of art. At the same time, the exhibition addresses the theme of art historical models of reception by reflecting upon concepts such as artistic originality, authorship, or the aura and status of the art work. In the context of the exhibition the reference to art history is not meant to serve as the theme but to be discussed as a conceptual decision for various artistic projects.

Group exhibition with: Stephane Couturier, Danicia Dakic and Klaus Scherübel among others.
